Manny T. Coronilla: Kaepernick sets country back 50 years

I see Colin Kaepernick throwing another interception, fumbling the ball, losing the game, helping to lose the Super Bowl then losing his job. This wannabe quarterback has sent us back 50 years to when our country was very divisive. I don’t blame Kaepernick completely, it’s the followers who are doing the damage.

There always has been followers that are thinking it’s cool to follow a bad fad.

I would rather bow my head and say a prayer for the families of the slain policeman. Whether they are husbands, wives, sons, dads and moms and friends who have been shot in the line of duty and the military who have sacrificed their lives for us. I believe that policemen are required to have a firearm, not criminals and so-called gangsters who from Day One have been taught to fear and hate policemen.

Kaepernick did not grow up in a city filled with crime; he grew up in a small community where I doubt he was ever stopped by the police. Kaepernick, I think you have your priorities backwards.

Manny T. Coronilla, Turlock
