Diana Doll: The world according to Trump, or finding an alternative reality
By now, some Donald Trump voters might be starting to smell a rat. Since January, the President has shown us a disappointing, albeit intriguing, array of his thoughts and beliefs. I made a list. According to Trump:
Fairer rules and increased trade with our Pacific partners, to counter China, are stupid.
Helping people afford healthcare insurance is really boring work.
The very rich need more money.
The national debt isn’t large enough.
Safeguarding the environment is sissified; clean coal exists.
Nuclear war is winnable.
Nicknames, discriminatory and racist remarks make handy distractions.
The Second Amendment says whatever the NRA wants it to say.
Obama’s very successful Iranian nuclear deal isn’t successful.
Keeping immigrants and seasonal workers out of the U.S. is patriotic. Among Americans, stoop labor is popular.
Any law passed by Republicans is fine with me; I don’t need to read it.
Social media trash talk is the same as real news. Telling lies is not wrong, believe me.
