Edward Keene: Gun bans won’t halt America’s epidemic of violence
Doctors don’t cure disease by treating the symptoms. Banning guns doesn’t address the huge problem of why more and more people turn to violence. If not a gun then a car, a truck, a bomb, or whatever. The entertainment industry worships gun violence by churning out movies and video games depicting extreme violence. The press makes every violent nutcase a headline and makes them famous.
If anyone really thinks that gun bans will solve the problem of violence, they must live in a fantasy world. Forrest Gump’s mom said it best: “Stupid is as stupid does.”
