Anne Britton: If you don’t for Measure S, we will lose some libraries
A true patriot’s most important responsibility is to vote. Are you taking your responsibility seriously?
The November ballot is a small one for many areas, especially now that most boards are elected by districts. You might think there is nothing that will affect you and your neighbors. One measure will, as it is county-wide. To keep our public libraries open – for job seekers, for parents preparing their children for success in school, for fixed-income seniors who need free access to the internet at one of the 13 county libraries – vote Yes on Measure S on Nov. 7.
Library closures are inevitable without renewal of this support that has been in place since 1995: it is nearly 90 percent of library funding.
Take responsibility. Step up and be patriotic. Make the effort. Vote!
