Marietta Thomas: Some stories give you hope for the future

How wonderful to read some good news in The Bee on March 29. The story “Others’ trash turns into tiny houses for Oakland’s homeless” (Page A-3) was about a man in Oakland, Gregory Kloehn, who picks up rubbish dumped on the streets in Oakland and builds tiny homes for the homeless – cleaning the streets and providing shelter for those without.

In “Meet Modesto’s top teenagers” (Page B1), it was wonderful to read about these youth providing such fine examples. They are using their energy and time to improve the community and the world. I bet not one of them wears their pants hanging below their butts! Kudos to them and their parents!
