Susan Castaneda Severe: From Memorial to hospice, father shown great care, respect
I am writing this letter in gratitude for the care my father, Thomas Castaneda, was given. It started Tuesday evening when my father had a massive stroke. My mother called 911 and spoke to the dispatcher, who was very polite and caring. The fire department and ambulance came right away. When my father was taken to Memorial Medical Center’s ER he was treated with the utmost respect, dignity and care.
He stayed there for two days and we were given the opportunity to either go home with hospice or to be taken to the Alexander Cohen Hospice house in Hughson. We, as a family, had never been there before, so we did not know what to expect. When we arrived we were in amazement of how beautiful this place was. The care they provided was amazing. They made sure my father was in complete comfort. They rotate him every three hours. The nurse came in every hour to make sure he was comfortable. The staff gave of themselves over and above 100 percent. Words cannot express the gratitude our family has for the care, respect and dignity my father has been given.
