Lynne George: Water is being wasted, but city doesn’t seem to care
With the ongoing drought situation, we are encouraged to report water waste situations. Out of concern for our water health, I have contacted various agencies about a running yard faucet on High Street near Morris. The home appears abandoned; there is an abandoned van on the street out front and the water has continued to run for weeks if not months. I would like to see a statement from municipal agencies about their procedures addressing water-waste reports. Do they simply place a red marker near the broken faucet and mail a letter to an empty house?
