Estevan Sandoval: After hung jury, why will there be another trial?
Re “Hung jury in trial for ex-officer” (Page B1, March 19): I would just like to know how the City of Modesto can let the District Attorney keep spending the taxpayers’ money on retrying a man who a jury voted 11/1 as not guilty. One person on the jury did not agree with the other 11 and now the D.A. is going to try the man again using taxpayers’ money; when does it stop?
Estevan Sandoval, Modesto
Editor’s note: The city of Modesto has no authority or jurisdiction over the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s office.
