Tom Miller: Pit bulls are a danger to humans, other dogs
Re “Start protecting us from dangerous pit bulls” (Opinions, March 22): Thank you for your editorial about dangerous pit bulls. Three times in the last five years we (my dog and I) have had run-ins with pit bulls. Fortunately, the liberal use of pepper spray (I carry a large can of the material) allowed the incidents to end on a satisfactory note.
Everyone who walks a dog these days should carry something to protect themselves and their dogs. Two years ago, at the local school grounds, a golden retriever was killed by two pit bulls and the dogs owner was chewed up while trying to protect his pet. More attention should be paid to this problem.
