Cheryl Kirkbride: Fireworks don’t make sense as grass turns to kindling
We may be out of a drought, but the city of Modesto and Stanislaus County are still very dry. I remain unable to see how our leaders can permit the sale of fireworks. I understand it raises a lot of revenue for a variety of charities, schools and other groups, but really? Take a look around, Modesto and Stanislaus County are matchsticks.
