Jesse Young: Olsen’s head in the sand about where homeless congregate

Re “Olsen doesn’t support homeless access center” (Page 3A, May 24): Kristin Olsen’s fears and worries concerning an access center for the homeless betrays both her ignorance and her head-in-the-sand weltanschauung (world view) concerning Modesto. That she would fear the homeless congregating – in front of the courthouse/jail complex no less – shows that she is cloistered in an ivory tower, unaware that the homeless (including many of my friends as well as myself) already congregate and hang out all over Modesto. Everywhere.

If this is not evident to one and all, you are likely blind, indiscreetly flying the flag not for all Modestans but only for those who help you jump from seat to seat in an inglorious search for relevancy, importance and the filthiest of lucre.

Jesse Young, Ceres
