Vickie Killingsworth: Stench of Trump’s budget spreads from coast to coast

I hope Donald Trump’s supporters will remember his comment during his campaign about how some of his friends were unable to secure loans that would help them create jobs. This was because of banking restrictions imposed by the Dodd-Frank banking reform rules. If he and the Republicans defund the Community Development Financial Institutions fund it will eliminate capital for the loans that allow entrepreneurs here, such as Derek Taylor (“If Trump has his way, forget about any new barbecue sauces,” Letters, June 6), to start and build new businesses. The Trump budget is a jobs killer for the small businessman. I guess you have to be a rich businessman like him to get loans for “job-creating” investments. Looks like the little guy gets the shaft again.

Is there any entity other than the military that is not hurt by his proposed budget? Legislators have said his budget was “dead on arrival.” I think I know why. The stench of it has spread from coast to coast and border to border.
