Carol Sullivan: Denham’s ads are lies; he’s just playing politics again
Jeff Denham now has public announcements on television and radio in which he is misrepresenting facts about the replacement for Affordable Care Act. The Republican replacement is known as American Health Care Act. He is stating that pre-existing conditions will be covered by AHCA, but as the plan states now, people with pre-existing conditions will be placed into a separate “pool.” Government subsidies will be available to help them afford the higher-priced insurance available to those in the pool. But the Congressional Budget Office analysis shows their costs will be far greater than those of people without pre-existing conditions. How many Americans have no pre-existing conditions?
I do not like the fact that this misrepresentation is being broadcast. I do not want a congressperson who will shamelessly misrepresent the facts as my representative in Congress. I want someone who will not avoid the public and the truth just to stay in office. I will do whatever I can to help him lose his seat, and hope the public sees he just playing politics.
