Ernie Seppi: County gets plenty of taxes from citizens, but leaves alone weed stores

Re “Pot shops sprouting up in Stanislaus County” (Front page, June 1): County leaders seem to be very capable of finding ways to increase taxes and collect taxes on citizens, but apparently not the pot business. Forty dispensaries (between storefronts and delivery merchants) for “medical use only” in the area? Sounds like we are on our way to competition with the opiate epidemic without collecting taxes.
