Where are they now and how smart do they appear? Remember when the Modesto Irrigation District Board of Directors said there was a great opportunity to sell water to San Francisco? Remember it was all about the money MID would receive and how it would allow them to modernize the MID system?
Concerned citizens showed up for months at board meetings protesting the possibility of selling MID water to San Francisco. The manager, board attorney, and board members sat there, looking down at the citizens as if they were rabble.
Who looks the smartest now, as we enter the fourth dry year in a row and with only 16 inches of MID water allocated to growers? I could go on about the stupidity of the previous MID board, but I just wonder if the new MID board learned anything about the knowledge citizens can bring to the operation of a public body?
