Pamela Robinson: No reason to dispose of neutered feral cats
Re “Where are Kaiser’s feral cats going?” (Letters, March 10): In response to the letter regarding the disappearance of feral cats at the Kaiser hospital. We care for a large registered colony of feral cats. Some of them have lived there for nearly 10 years. We trap them, neuter them and return them to their colony. We also place some of the tamer cats and kittens in homes.
We have had similar problems with a pest-control company and a landscaping company, which trapped cats and disposed of them. These are TNR cats that are ear-tipped. If they were taken to the shelter, they would have been returned to the colony.
Recently, we have found a great number of the cats dead. Where are they taking the cats? Are they dumping them or exterminating them? Animal control needs to investigate the inhumane treatment of feral cats.
