Anna Bennett: Cities have had to overcome bad publicity for generations

I watched the television drama entertainment of “American Crime,” set in Modesto. It appears to me that Modesto has growing pains. I would not worry about it too much. Think about other cities and the stories connected to them, such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Chicago, New York and others. There is also a good side to present for all cities. You might check with other mayors to see how they addressed the issue of bad publicity.

I have heard some wild stories, even about Delhi, in yesteryears. I disregard it and hope it is just folklore. But it took some really hardy people to become pioneers. Some went over the top and required the law to come in.
