Susan Reynolds: I asked for ashes, but no one would bring them
I have lived in Modesto for 60 years and always attended Ash Wednesday services at my church. This year has been different with a broken foot. I asked for communion and ashes at home, but now they divide by zip codes! If you are between churches, you might get left out entirely – even giving them a week’s notice! Not like in our parents’ day! My confession, I tried, but no one listened!
