Bill Wood: If U.S. ignores Netanyahu, we could see a nuclear arms race
Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, made an historic great speech before a joint session of Congress. It is also a huge gamble! Where we in America are concerned with security, the Jewish state is concerned with survival.
How our leadership will respond was ominously indicated by the number of Democrat seats vacant and the rather petulant response by President Obama. The poor relationship between Netanyahu and Obama does not bode well for the outcome.
All world leaders are concerned with their legacy. How will history view their leadership. If the President does not heed the clear and present danger eloquently presented by Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the Jewish state of Israel ceases to exist, the Obama legacy will be one of total failure. The loss of Israel and an atomic arms race in the Middle East would be the catastrophic result.
