James Sandner: If Obama has 59 percent approval rating, they’re not asking cops

Re “Trump’s claims about his win are hot air” (Page 11A, Dec. 14): Jonathan Bernstein says that Gallup’s current approval rating for President Barack Obama is 59 percent. It appears they are polling the same individuals that had Hillary Clinton winning the presidential election in a landslide. The poll probably did not include any members of law enforcement or their families who have been subjected to the fake news of the “Hands up, don’t shoot” narrative that was supported by President Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder. Their ill-advised position on the events in Ferguson, Mo. has resulted in criminals declaring “open season” on law enforcement officers across the country with many officers being ambushed and killed. The President deserves no more than a lump of coal in his stocking this year. Merry Christmas to all those officers that sacrifice their lives daily to protect and serve the public.
