Harold Crumpley: Political fiction becoming ‘truth’ as we look on

A futuristic scenario, long popular in fiction, is becoming reality before our very eyes. Nations and national allegiances disappear as multinational corporations and their CEOs take control of the world – backed by military forces. Donald Trump is building such a government. He might even strike a bargain with Vladimir Putin to control the resources of the western world. Interestingly, Bibi Natanyahu was talking the same talk, on “60-Minutes” last weekend, touting better Arab relations through trade deals.

Maybe they think the “haves” can keep the “have-nots” in line through economic bullying. Where does that leave ordinary people – always the victims in the fictional versions?
