Kevin Carroll: The mission has helped for 68 years; now it needs help

In 1948, a group of dedicated citizens decided to do something for those in need living in Stanislaus County, more importantly Modesto. They started the Modesto Union Gospel Mission.

Today, Modesto Gospel Mission offers shelter to men, women and children, feeding over 600 people a day. All programs offered by the Mission are designed to offer a hand up. Programs such as GED, high school diploma, job training, and recovery programs are individually designed. The goal has always been to offer Refuge, Recovery and Restoration.

We are so grateful for all of our supporters and volunteers who have consistently and faithfully given to the Mission. We don’t receive any government funding. We rely solely on the generosity of our community.

The need has increased, yet support has not. This year we are facing a financial shortfall and are in need. Please consider helping us to finish 2016 strong. If you have not had a tour of the Mission lately we would love to show you what’s new and how you can help. If you can give, we are sincerely grateful. We are blessed to be a part of this community. God bless you.

Kevin Carroll, Executive Director, Modesto Gospel Mission
