Jill Jones: How the media fooled itself into believing Clinton would win

Here are three reasons Donald Trump won the election. First (and foremost), Trump has a vision for America. He loves America. Say what you will, that is undeniable. I watched his rallies, and saw the passion he has for our country, for all Americans. In the interest of knowing about both candidates, I also watched Hillary Clinton’s speeches. There was no vision, no passion, just business as usual for Washington, D.C., which left me cold. Second, she believed the media when they told her she had a 95 percent chance of winning. Believed it so much that she thought insulting tens of millions of people by calling them “a basket of deplorables” was perfectly acceptable; so much that she didn’t even bother to campaign in key states. People noticed that.

She believed she had a lock on the Hispanic and black votes. Media was not showing Trump’s rallies. The tens of thousands in arenas, overflow crowds of thousands. Blacks there, with “Blacks for Trump” signs, Hispanics with “Hispanics for Trump” signs, LGBTQ with “LGBTQ for Trump” signs; deliberately not shown by media. Lastly, tens of millions of Americans were praying 2Chronicles 14:7, and God does answer prayer.

Jill Jones, Modesto

Editor’s note: Election analysis by the Pew Research Center showed 66 percent of Hispanic Americans and 88 percent of black Americans voted for Hillary Clinton.
