David K. Ford: Trump is right, we don’t have time for the same old story every day

A letter writer (“How, exactly, will things get better?” Dec. 12) asked a Donald Trump voter to share why we feel life is better now that he will become the 45th president. Today’s daily slam-Trump headline – “Trump: No need for daily intel briefings” (Page 7A, Dec. 12) – is one small reason life is better. I read the whole article beneath the alarmist headline and I came away feeling good about our new president. Why? Common sense.

His tendency to cut through the BS. He wants to chuck daily intel briefings because he is delegating those to his “briefers,” who he expects to keep him informed when there’s a change. Many of us working in businesses are bombarded daily with the same information. Blah, blah, blah. As president, Trump says he has no time for that. Makes sense.

He’s not getting rid of intel briefings, just not wasting time until there’s a significant change. You gotta love his quote: “I’m, like, a smart person. I don’t have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day for the next eight years.” There are winners and losers. Donald Trump, our new president, is a great example of a winner.
