Christy Aguirre: Instead of rioting, millennial generation should get busy for next election
If it wasn’t disappointing enough seeing a racist, sexual predator like Donald Trump win the presidency, it is even more disappointing watching the reaction of those who are unsatisfied with the electoral college outcome. The very same people who are upset that someone as seemingly awful and hateful as Donald Trump are now protesting in an awful and hateful way. While I am not a fan of Trump, I fail to see how rowdy protesting, rioting, setting fires, blocking highways and outright vandalism display the values of tolerance and love that Hillary Clinton supporters claim to hold.
Plainly put, these demonstrations are doing nothing more than putting a spotlight on the immaturity of the millennial generation, half of which didn’t vote anyway. Were we really raised to act like fools when we don’t get our way? Remember Hillary supporters, “Love trumps hate.” Your united effort to live a life of peace, love and tolerance will do more for this country than any hateful president can. Accept the result and do your part in making your voice heard next time around.
