Damon Woods: OID recall efforts did not follow the ‘letter of the law’

Re “Bee biased against OID recall” (Letters, Nov. 17): The letter writer claimed her group gathered signatures on the recall petition to “the letter of the law.” However, it now appears the people her group hired to obtain signatures used fraudulent statements, telling people the petition was to stop the water transfer to the south state, while the actual petition was for a recall effort.

That is not to the “letter of the law.” Plus, seems her group used some OID employees to gather these signatures. This also is not according to the “letter of the law.” Gathering signatures under false assumptions does not mean you have the support of the people. It is a shame your group could not consider sitting down and talking with your OID representative before filing for a recall. You also have OID on your side, threatening legal action against the effort to halt the recall.

I would challenge your group to consider meeting in a public forum to debate the issues.
