Joe Dooley: We don’t live in a democracy, it’s a republic
Now that the election is over would someone please educate the liberals, and especially Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, that the United States is a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy. We have elected representatives in our republic. Democracy is mob rule in which you have everybody having to vote and then the one who gets the most votes wins. That is why as bad as our elected officials are we don’t have to go vote on every issue, motion or law that is raised.
Our Republic is the best system of government in the world . Our Constitution and Bill of Rights are shinning example of how a people rule themselves without a king or a dictator or a mob that throws a tantrum when they don’t get their way and march in the streets and disrupt law-abiding citizens’ lives. The founding fathers put together a great system so we could govern ourselves. It’s up to us to make sure it never gets corrupted again as it has these last three regimes.
