Leonard D. Silva: I don’t like what Trump says, but I’m voting for him

I’m not voting for Donald Trump because I like him. I listen to the things he sometimes says and I wonder why does he keep saying things like that? Listening to Hillary is what a politician should sound like, telling us exactly what she wants us to hear. That’s one of the reasons they get elected, getting us to believe in what they want to give us.

At times, Trump makes me mad; but not being a politician takes him out of the pockets of everyone in Washington. Being a father, a grandfather, a Vietnam veteran and a third-generation American of Portuguese descent, I want the same America grew up in, that my uncles fought for and my grandparents came here and built their future on. That is the America they fought for, I fought for and my nephew is fighting for now. Hillary will kill that American dream. Her open borders, Supreme Court picks and inaction in our inner-city schools and higher taxes and smaller military is not what’s best for America.
