Roger Morgan: What will individuals pot farmers do with 72,000 joints?

Allowing any residence to grow up to six marijuana plants for personal use is simply insane. Aside from complete inability to control whether it is 6 or 60 plants, the reality is people will regard it as an income opportunity. Six plants grown hydroponically could produce 5 to 10 pounds of pot per plant. That equates to 30 to 60 pounds of pot. At $2,000 per pound, that equates to $60,000 to $120,000 in tax-free income.

At 1,200 joints per pound, it will produce 36,000 to 72,000 joints. But then, many have discovered there is even more money making Butane Hash Oil (BHO). The problem is butane is so volatile that even static electricity can set off an explosion capable of blowing a house or apartment building into the next county and sending anyone inside to burn centers or the morgue. The smell of skunk, pesticides and smoke will ruin the quality of life for neighbors. Real estate values will decline. Kids will have even easier access to drugs and home invasion robberies will increase.

Prop 64 will ruin life in California while dumbing down and destroying our youth.
