John Sturgis: Measure L just another attempt to take our money

Another election and another opportunity for politicians to raise our taxes. Over the years they’ve failed to convince voters despite threats of fewer police officers, fewer teachers and, now, safer streets. Californians already pay some of the highest taxes in the county. If higher taxes meant safer roads, we’d have the safest roads in the nation. Sadly, we don’t because politicians waste our transportation tax revenues on trains to nowhere and other boondoggles. Vote no on proposition L. We have to live within our means. Make California’s politicians live within theirs.
