Rowena Ballard: Nascimento knew what was right for Turlock, Bublak did not
As a resident of Turlock, I want to encourage my friends and neighbors to vote for Steven Nascimento for Turlock City Council. During his time on the city council, Steven has demonstrated integrity and a willingness to stand up against special interests and political pressure and do what is right for our community. He has been a champion for much-needed campaign finance reform and was the only council member to consistently oppose replacing the non-profit Turlock Certified Farmers Market in downtown Turlock with a for-profit market.
It is telling that at the recent candidate forum all of the current candidates for Turlock City Council, with the exception of Councilwoman Amy Bublak, agreed the farmers market issue was mishandled and the council made a mistake. Hindsight is 20/20, but Steven had the foresight and the guts to do what was right for our community and he has earned my support!
