Glenda Olsen: Trump’s comments prove he’s unsuited for presidency
We have had an uninterrupted, peaceful change of power in our country since the Civil War. In our elections, there’s always a winner and a loser who then concedes graciously and grants legitimacy to the winner so our government can proceed under new leadership.
But Donald Trump says the election system is rigged. At the last debate he twice refused to say he would accept the results. He is undermining our democracy and casting doubt on our electoral process. This is outrageous and unacceptable. He lies and denies saying things, even when we can replay his comments on the internet. We have heard him demean and ridicule so many people. He is just temperamentally unfit to be president and too risky to trust with the nuclear “button.”
I’m voting for Hillary Clinton. She’s level-headed, experienced, thoughtful, intelligent and compassionate. The Republicans have spread half-truths and lies and attempted to turn voters against her. But she has held her head high and knows that instead of dividing our nation and pitting citizens against each other, we’re stronger together. I look forward to Congress addressing her as Madam President.
