Edward R. Brault: Measure L will make our local sales tax too high
Measure L would increase the sales tax from 7.5 to 8 cents on the dollar. If you buy a car for $30,000 the sales tax will be $2,400. I draw the line at 7 percent. Vote no on Measure L. Enough is enough. I will not vote for a sales tax increase for any reason, including libraries, schools, road repair, etc. Let them find another way to get the money. The sales tax will go up and up if you let it happen. I repeat, please vote no on Measure L.
Edward R. Brault, Turlock
Editor’s note: The lowest sales tax in California is 7.5 percent
