Michelle Christopherson: Voters should keep Hallinan on the YCCD board

I am writing in support of re-electing Tom Hallinan for trustee of the Yosemite Community College District, Area 7. I am an English instructor at Modesto Junior College and have attended many board meetings and followed board actions closely. In his decision-making, Hallinan is always responsive to the needs of students, faculty and staff. He is an independent thinker, experienced in understanding the needs of the district and flexible enough to know when change is needed.

Hallinan is an active and collegial member of the board, asking keen, thoughtful questions and bringing up good ideas. He also makes good use of his legal expertise. I am glad that we have someone of Hallinan’s caliber on the board and I urge voters to re-elect him to this important position.
