Mike Simpson: Neither candidate is worthy of our votes

As I sit and reflect on what I watched, I am appalled at the state of this election. One choice is an incompetent candidate whose actions were directly responsible for loss of American lives as well as a total disregard for the security of our nation’s secrets; who runs a foundation that seems to have no charities other than its founders; a family member whose actions toward woman far exceeded a comment, kiss or grab. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the party itself have taken a road so low it passes through Hades. The sound bites are intentionally used out of context and are misleading at best.

The other choice is an individual who has no experience in government and is lacking in any tact or social graces. When he speaks he demonstrates his inability to comprehend the norm. Quick to temper and a womanizer. The women coming forward have no credibility as they did not come forward at the time of the occurrence. Both are not competent to run this country. Where are the issues on the economy, foreign policy, crime. All we see is the slander and the sex.

Mike Simpson, Modesto

Editor’s note: Charity Watch gives The Clinton Foundation an “A” rating with 88 percent of the money it raises devoted to charitable work. Several of the women accusing Donald Trump of sexual advances discussed them at the time with others, including former People magazine reporter Natasha Stoynoff.
