Diana Doll: What we can expect from President Hillary Clinton

Recent polling indicates a majority of voters are favoring Hillary Clinton. If she is elected president, my expectations are for:

▪ A continuation and evolution of the positives of the Obama years;

▪ Addressing Bernie Sanders’ serious concerns;

▪ Dialogue with Trump voters;

▪ A push for fair wages and family-friendly workplaces;

▪ Policies to protect the planet, such as conservation incentives and use of new technology;

▪ Shrewd and nuanced foreign policy featuring strong cooperation with allies;

▪ Well-qualified, fairly centrist Supreme Court nominees;

▪ A hardworking, alert leader.

My hopes are for a perception of taxes as a just payment for services; meaningful work for all job seekers; a Congress desiring to fix health insurance weaknesses and fund essential agencies; timely help for veterans with head trauma; a new push for school integration – a proven solution to the achievement gap; children to be welcomed and cared for by both parents; a spirit of community underpinned by respect for all. “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Psalm 133: vs 1.
