Sandi Verfurth: Eggman got endorsement, Denham deserves your vote

I’ve never really thought of voting for anyone else. As a veteran and farmer, I’ve always considered him “one of the good guys.” He’s always been for lower taxes, a smaller, less intrusive federal government, and for common sense ways for the people of the Central Valley to have more control over our daily lives and how we spend our precious resources. That’s why it was strange to me when The Modesto Bee recently endorsed Michael Eggman.

The endorsement itself was just weird. It wasn’t really an endorsement of Eggman as much as an attack on Denham for not hating Trump as much as the editorial board evidently does.

But Denham deserves your vote because of what he’s done for our district. He’s been a long-standing advocate for veterans and their unique needs. He’s worked to get the funds to fix our local bridges and highways, helped reform FEMA, and kept us from getting ripped off on the high speed rail project. Most importantly, he’s fought hard for our right to control our own water by stopping federal overreach.

Don’t take him and his work on our behalf for granted. Eggman got the endorsement, but Denham should get your vote.
