Amber Gariety: Ignore Bee’s fit over Trump, vote for Denham
In Congressional District 10, the voters have two choices for a congressional representative. The Bee’s irresponsible, flippant and childish reasoning for endorsing Michael Eggman is laughable. What has happened to our journalists?
The “Editorial Board” writes that they “never failed to endorse Denham before,” that they “applaud his work to bring veteran’s facilities to Stockton,” that they think Denham’s approach to immigration “might be the best starting place for real reform.”
Denham has a proven record of supporting his constituents in this district on both sides of the aisle. Denham has served in our nation’s military. Denham has served this community.
The Bee’s Editorial Board’s reasoning for endorsing Eggman?
“We’re not pretending Michael Eggman is a top-tier candidate. We didn’t endorse him in 2014 when he first ran against Denham. Eggman doesn’t live in the district, he’s never held elective office and his campaign is almost entirely based on equating Denham to Trump .... What makes Eggman preferable is that, if elected, he will owe his allegiance to those who voted against Trump.”
Is this the kind of fit-throwing, thumb-sucking, manipulating media we used to prize for it’s journalistic integrity?
