Charlene Vieira: If campaign forms baffle Rojas, how can he deal with college business?
Abe Rojas wants to be re-elected to the YCCD board for the sixth time. A previous letter writer noted she had observed him dozing in board meetings and appearing uninformed about material he had been asked to read. This lack of attention to detail seems characteristic.
Are you aware how careless he is as a candidate? All candidates who raise more than $2,000 are required to submit paperwork showing who donated and how the money is spent. Rojas didn’t follow the rules for campaign disclosures. He missed the required deadline to turn in his first statement. On his late form, he incorrectly identified his committee type, omitted the required residential/business address on one page, and failed to include the required form detailing campaign expenditures.
He could’ve read the directions or called or emailed the state agency that oversees these reports. Apparently he didn’t bother. Do you want to elect someone who is so sloppy, careless, forgetful and negligent of details? Bill Holly, Ph.D, will carefully read and ask questions about board materials. Abe has had his time on the YCCD Board. Vote Bill Holly for some meaningful and thoughtful change on our community college board.
