Steve Bohannan: What makes salmon more important than cattle, chickens, swine and other animals?
Re “We must work together to balance a limited resource – water” (Page 3D, Oct. 9): Peter Drekmeier, policy director for Tuolumne River Trust, states: “The beautiful thing about a healthy salmon fishery, we can harvest half the fish and they will still return in the same abundance the following year. What other animal provides such a gift?”
Oh, I don’t know. Cattle, chickens, swine, turkeys, rabbits, etc.. “We must work together” is laughable.
