George J. King: We’ve seen Jeff Denham’s hat; where are his cattle?
Six years! Jeff Denham has been our “representative” in a Republican-controlled congress for six years, and the only thing he has done that affected us was to vote to shut down the government, closing Yosemite and costing valley citizens and businesses millions in lost wages and revenue. Now he won’t make it clear where he stands on Donald Trump. Don’t hold your breath.
Denham is being supported by a patriotic-sounding organization that is actually a Super PAC run by the Koch Brothers from New York City. The Kochs hate Trump, so Denham is not about to endorse him. Denham also does not have the guts, as other Republicans have, to renounce Trump because Denham needs the votes of the gun-toting “Trumpers” in the valley.
So expect Jeff Denham to remain in hiding until after the election because he is a coward. He has spent six years trying to make “chicken salad out of chicken manure,” so this is just one more example. I am a 69-year-old Vietnam veteran who believes he deserves a real congressman, not a fake like Denham. The good people of Texas have a saying that fits him perfectly. Jeff Denham is “all hat and no cattle”.
