Gary McDowall: Trump wrong on Obama, what about climate?

After exhaustive Donald Trump-style research, he stated President Obama was born in the U.S.A. How long would he take to accurately research global warming, the water crisis, terrorism, women’s issues, racism and find any accurate information regarding the real world and the human condition.

Californians will not overwhelmingly vote for Donald. However some of our elected officials, including Rep. Jeff Denham, are not doing their best for the Valley’s farmers and citizens. Climate change is here and more is coming. Collapsing aquifers and rampant drilling for water has devastating effects, here and in around the world. We need the best-coordinated information, science and technology with scientists and experts to plan ahead.

Using the same short-term methods will not solve what lays ahead. Many fear for their livelihoods, and with good reason. Businesses, farmers and everyone will have to adapt to changing conditions. We need to look ahead 20, 40 or more years. The few remaining climate-change deniers cannot prevent the best information and policies from reaching Valley’s citizens. Short-term, uncoordinated, unscientific methods will not solve the issues and, in fact, will only exacerbate the problems.
