Donna Smith Penrod: Problems remain at Evergreen Cemetary
On July 10, I visited my parents' and relatives' graves at Evergreen Cemetery, Merced. What a disgrace and disrespect to the people buried there. When these plots were purchased it was with an agreement of perpetual care. There are tombstones that you cannot even read because they have been grown over with grass and weeds. It is not being watered either. I know for a fact they charge plenty to open and close a grave. The cemetery next door seems to have water, it is green and manicured. Come on, show respect for our love ones!
