Kathy Munoz: Hopefully city will step up to support neighborhoods
I am in the process of organizing a neighborhood and making it part of Modesto Neighborhoods, Inc. I have a mentor who has successfully organized in the Woodland area. My first step is to get a steering committee and submit our Beyer-Sylvan neighborhood as a part of the larger organization.
My second task is to raise the approximately $300 to mail a survey to all businesses and residents in the area. The printing for the survey is covered. If that initial survey was covered, it would expedite the effort to get organized. I hope the city approves the funding for Modesto Neighborhoods. These organizations will fight crime, blight and so much more.
