John Stott: Dellwood Alliance keeps neighborhood clean, attractive
Re “Budget Review? Try townhall meeting” (Letters, March 2): I respect the writer’s opinions because he has the experience to back them up. I have often wondered why we hire out-of-area consultants when we surely have city and county departments and employees whose jobs it is to do such studies.
Actually I am more interested in his comment about “piles of trash ... sitting in the street” and “keeping the common areas of the city clean.”
Let me introduce the writer to an organization called “The Dellwood Neighborhood Alliance.” Our area is between Tully and 99 and from Briggsmore to Coldwell. Several of the streets start with “Del,” and many end in “Wood.” When you visit, you will find neat, attractive and well-maintained homes with landscaping that respects the drought but still appeals to the eye, and streets that are litter free.
Who is responsible for this attractive environment? Who illustrates individual responsibility? We do – the members of “The Dellwood Neighborhood Alliance.”
