Michael Ackley: Pitts goes too far tying OKC bombing to GOP

Re “Twenty years ago, we saw the enemy” (Opinions, April 19): Leonard Pitts Jr.’s column constructed a wildly illogical link between the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the Republican Party. The saddest thing about Pitts’ neurosis is that it seems to be shared by your Opinion Page editors, who lent credence to its irrationality by presenting it as though it were respectable thought.

Next, one supposes, we’ll see an opinion piece that ties the GOP to ISIS terrorism. Your editors will justify it under “diversity of thought,” and your publisher will continue to wonder why you keep losing credibility.

Michael Ackley, Sonora
