Thomas Tyler: Gigantic raise to Changnon an insult to taxpayers

Re “School officials get big raises” (Page A1, March 21): Here we go again, the cycle of administrative pay raises never ceases. I am both amazed and appalled at how far out of touch local politicians are with local taxpayers. A 20.6-percent raise for the county school administrator is totally irresponsible. These acts create a snowball effect and the counties next door will soon say they need higher salaries to attract qualified administrators. What a load of garbage they are spinning.

Superintendent Tom Chanagnon knew what the salary was when he ran for the office. If he does not agree with the arrangements, he has two choices: He can learn to live within his current salary, or look for another job like the rest of us.

I am certainly going to remember this insult to taxpayers when the board comes up for reelection.
