Heat advisory for Central California from Tuesday to Thursday, says the NWS

On Monday at 11:43 a.m. the NWS Hanford CA issued a heat advisory valid from Tuesday 11 a.m. until Thursday 11 p.m. The advisory is for Los Banos - Dos Palos, Merced - Madera - Mendota, Planada - Le Grand - Snelling, West Side of Fresno and Kings counties, Fresno area, Fresno-Clovis, Delano-Wasco-Shafter, Hanford - Corcoran - Lemoore, Visalia - Porterville - Reedley, Bakersfield, Southeast San Joaquin Valley, South End San Joaquin Valley, Mariposa Madera Foothills, Fresno-Tulare Foothills and South End Sierra Foothills as well as Kern and Buena Vista counties.
The NWS informs, "High temperatures ranging from 102 to 108 degrees expected. Overnight lows will only drop into the mid to upper 70s."
"Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses," explains the NWS.
This advisory is in effect until Thursday at 11 p.m.

- Be cautious outdoors: Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
- Optimal Timing: When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
- Be alert to warning signs: Educate yourself about the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
- Dress comfortably: Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
To minimize risks during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) advises incorporating frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. If someone experiences heat-related symptoms, promptly relocate them to a cool and shaded spot. In case of an emergency, dial 911.
