Time to pull out your umbrellas and rain boots again, Modesto. The rain isn’t over quite yet.

After a few days of mostly sunny skies, a “major” storm is making its way to the Modesto region, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is “expected to bring extremely heavy mountain snow, foothill snow, strong winds (and) widespread rain” later this week and into the weekend, the weather service announced on social media platforms.

From Thursday to Sunday, most of Northern California, including Modesto, will be impacted by the storm.

On Friday, the region will see “extreme impact,” with moderate to heavy rain and strong winds ranging from 30 to 50 mph.

“Be prepared for slick travel conditions and ponding of water on roadways,” the weather service said.
