Rain could be coming to Modesto. When can Stanislaus County expect showers?

Rain could be coming to Modesto after freezing temperatures leave the region, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency issued a freeze warning for northern San Joaquin County for 2 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, with temperatures in some areas expected to drop as low as 27 to 32 degrees.

After that, the weather service’s Climate Prediction center said, there’s an above-normal probability of showers in Stanislaus County.

What’s in the weather forecast for Modesto?

Here’s the seven-day forecast for Modesto, including when rainfall is most likely, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will be sunny with a high near 61 degrees and north-northwest winds of 3 to 5 mph, the NWS said. The low will be around 36 degrees with light and variable wind.

Areas of frost are expected to appear Tuesday between 5 and 9 a.m., then the weather service predicts sunny skies with a high near 63 degrees and east-southeast winds of 5 to 7 mph.

The night’s low will be around 41 degrees with northwest winds around 5 mph and a 20% chance of rain after 11 p.m.

Wednesday is predicted to be mostly cloudy with a high near 55 degrees and a 50% chance of showers and south winds 5 to 7 mph, becoming east-southeast in the morning. The low will be around 41 degrees, according to the agency.

Thursday will be partly sunny with a high near 57 degrees and a 20% chance of showers after 11 a.m. The NWS predicts a low around 43 degrees.

Partly sunny skies are in the forecast for Friday, with a high near 55 degrees, according to the agency. The low will be around 41 degrees with a chance of showers.

Saturday will also be partly sunny with a high near 56 degrees and a slight chance of showers. The low will be around 43 degrees, according to the weather service.

Another partly sunny day is predicted by the agency for Sunday, with a high near 56 degrees.
